Manipur State Film Development Society (MSFDS) invites applications from interested young filmmakers and film students or budding filmmakers from Manipur to participate in the Hong Kong International Film and TV Market (FILMART), Hong Kong, scheduled from March 17-20, 2025, and the Game Developers Conference, San Francisco, USA, from March 17-21, 2025. The submission deadline at MSFDS Palace Gate is 31^st January 2025.

The Manipur Government has already recommended seven-member delegations for the International Film Festival of Rotterdam (IFFR), Netherlands, in January-February 2025, and the Berlin International Film Festival (Berlinale), Germany, from February 13-23, 2025.

This visionary initiative of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India is to foster the participation of young filmmakers and film students from the North Eastern states in prestigious international film festivals, to provide aspiring filmmakers and students from the North East with a unique platform to connect with global film professionals, broaden their perspectives, and showcase the region’s rich cultural diversity on an international stage.

In a recent communication, the Ministry had requested the eight North Eastern states to nominate seven representatives each. Each delegation is to comprised of two young filmmakers and five film students or budding filmmakers currently enrolled in film schools, AVGC (Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, and Comics) courses, or nominated by the Film Federation of the respective states.

The Ministry, through the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC), will bear all expenses related to the delegates’ participation, including airfare and accommodation. However, selected participants will need to cover their visa and daily expenses.
