Cyclone “Ramel” has caused significant devastation in Bokakhat, leading to the deaths of hundreds of migratory Little egret cubs due to heavy winds and rains.

The incident occurred in Milanpur, where the annual migration of this Australian goat species takes place.

The violent windstorm caused many of the young goats to fall from bamboo trees, resulting in widespread fatalities.

Local sources reported that more than 200 Little egrets, including the injured, have been rescued and sent to the Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre in Panbari.

This rescue effort was notably organized by local journalists who took swift action to save the surviving animals.

Every year, this specific breed of Australian migratory Little egret migrates to the region, making the loss particularly tragic for both the local ecosystem and the community that looks forward to their arrival.

The fatalities have raised concerns among wildlife enthusiasts and environmentalists about the impacts of such natural disasters on migratory species.
