Asserting that there has been a “gradual deterioration” in the quality of education despite appointments of highly qualified teachers in all government schools, Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio on Wednesday sought the support of all stakeholders of the sector.

Despite having a literacy rate of almost 80 per cent, Naga youths are unable to get jobs because of the lack of skill-based education, he said.

Rio was speaking at a function at a school in Meriema on the outskirts of Kohima, which has recently been upgraded to a high school.
