The Deputy Commissioner, Longleng district of Nagaland Dharam Raj has issued a public notice to all concerned that Amur Falcon is protected under the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972, trapping, killing, and selling of Amur Falcon is a criminal offense punishable by three years of rigorous imprisonment or with a fine of ₹ 25,000/- or both under Section 51 of the said Act.

Therefore, DC Longleng has directed all the village council chairman (VCC) and Ward Presidents to take up the matter on top priority and to monitor and give strict instructions within their respective jurisdiction.
