This move highlights the strengthening digital and diplomatic connection between the two leaders

On March 17, 2025, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi joined Truth Social, a social media platform owned by U.S. President Donald Trump.
In his first post, Modi expressed his excitement, stating, “Delighted to be on Truth Social! Looking forward to interacting with all the passionate voices here and engaging in meaningful conversations in the times to come,” accompanied by a photo of himself with Trump from the “Howdy Modi” event in Houston, Texas, in 2019.
Modi’s decision to join came shortly after Trump shared a link to Modi’s three-hour podcast with Lex Fridman on the platform, which Modi acknowledged with gratitude in a follow-up post.
As of now, PM Modi follows only Trump and U.S. Vice President JD Vance on Truth Social, where he quickly gained over 25,100 followers and counting.
This move highlights the strengthening digital and diplomatic connection between the two leaders. Truth Social, launched by Trump in 2022 after his bans from mainstream platforms like Twitter and Facebook, positions itself as an alternative social media space, primarily attracting conservative users.
