Cadet Furdiki Sherpa of 4 Bengal Girls Battalion from Darjeeling Govt College and Cadet Saraswati Singh of 5 Bengal Girls Battalion from Durgapur Women’s College, under NCC West Bengal & Sikkim Directorate successfully climbed Mt Tenchenkhang, 6010 metres in West Sikkim on 12 Jun 2019 at 1325 hrs despite inclement weather

Mt Tenchenkhag is an A+ grade peak in terms of technical difficulty and was attempted for the first time by any NCC team.

Both the girls have attended Basic Mountaineering courses from premier mountaineering institutes in India. They displayed exemplary courage, grit, stamina, and determination in reaching the summit through blizzards and the risk of avalanches.
