Imphal : Akhilesh Prasad Singh, newly appointed Inspector General, CRPF, Manipur and Nagaland Sector when called on the Manipur governor Anusuiya Uikey has assured of providing fullest cooperation for early restoration of peace and tranquillity in the State.

AP Singh met the Governor of Manipur at Raj Bhavan on Thursday (August 31). The IG, while informing the Governor that he has newly joined as IG, CRPF, Manipur, and Nagaland Sector, said he is already well aware of the current crisis arising out of the ethnic clash.

Further, the IG informed the Governor that he would extend his fullest cooperation from his side to restore peace and tranquillity in the State which was warmly reciprocated by the Governor.

The governor said, the timely deployment of Central Security Forces including CRPF, could contain the situation from bad to worse. Further, the Governor urged the IG to extend assistance to the violence-affected people who have been taking shelter at different relief camps both in the Valley and Hill Districts.
