Four more pairs of “Festival Special” train services are going to start shortly in NFR. These are:

1. 03141 / 03142 Sealdah – New Alipurduar – Sealdah daily special express
2. 02517 / 02518 Kolkata – Guwahati- Kolkata Bi-weekly special express
3. 02513 / 02514 Guwahati – Secunderabad – Guwahati weekly special express
4. 05611 / 05612 Guwahati – Silchar – Guwahati Tri-weekly special express

It may be mentioned here that, to clear the festive rush of passenger, Ministry of Railways has approved running of 196 pairs (392 trains) of “Festival Special” services over Indian Railways.  These special trains will be operated starting from 20^th October 2020 upto 30^th November 2020. The fare for these Festival Special services will be that applicable for special trains.

Accordingly, 03141 Sealdah – New Alipurduar special will leave daily from Sealdah at 13-40 hrs w.e.f. 20-10-2020 to reach New Alipurduar at 06-25 hrs next morning. During return journey 03142 New Alipurduar – Sealdah will leave from New Alipurduar daily at 11-45 hrs w.e.f. 21-10-2020 to arrive Sealdah at 04-45 hrs next day. The train will run via Naihati Jn, Bandel, Nabadwip Dham, Katwa, Azimganj Jn, Jangipur road, Malda Town, Barsoi Jn, New Jalpaiguri, Dhiupguri, Falakata and New Coochbehar.

05612 Silchar – Guwahati Tri-weekly special will leave from Silchar at 20-05 hrs on every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday w.e.f. 21-10-2020 to reach at 07-45 hrs next day. During return journey train no 05611 Guwahati – Silchar Tri-weekly special will leave from Guwahati at 17-30 hrs on every Monday, Thursday and Saturday w.e.f. 22-10-2020 to arrive Silchar at 05-55 hrs. The train will run via Badarpur, New Harangajao, New Haflong, Mahur, Lumding, Hojai and Chaparmukh.

02518 Guwahati- Kolkata Bi-weekly special will leave from Guwahati at 21-00 hrs on every Wednesday and Saturday w.e.f. 21-10-2020 to reach Kolkata at 15-00 hrs next day. During return journey train no 02517 Kolkata – Guwahati Bi-weekly special will leave from Kolkata at 21-40 hrs every Thursday and Sunday w.e.f. 22-10-2020 to reach Guwahati at 15-55 hrs next day. The train will run via Goalpara Town, New Bongaigaon, Kokrajhar, New Alipurduar, New Coochbehar, New Jalpaiguri, Kishanganj, Malda Town, Azimganj, Nabadwip Dham and Bandel.

02514 Guwahati – Secunderabad weekly special express will leave from Guwahati every Thursday at 06-20 hrs w.e.f. 22-10-2020 to reach Secunderabad at 04-00 hrs on Saturday. During return journey 02513 Secunderabad – Guwahati weekly special express will leave from Secunderabad every Sunday at 07-20 hrs w.e.f. 25-10-2020 to arrive Guwahati at 06-00 hrs on Tuesday. During its journey, the train will run via Rangiya, New Alipurduar, New Coochbehar, New Jalpaiguri, Kishanganj, Barsoi, Malda Town, Rampurhat, Howrah, Kharagpur, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Berhampur, Vishakapatnam, Rajamundry, and Vijayawada.

Running of these festival specials is expected to reduce the rush of passengers during the current festive season.
