While the Valley remains under lockdown, Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik on Sunday said there has not been a single case of killing in the last 10 days.

Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik has said that there is no shortage of medicines and essential commodities in the state. Mr Malik told media persons in New Delhi that enough stocks are available for the people to buy.
The Governor was in the national capital to pay his last respect to the former union finance minister and BJP leader Arun Jaitley.
In a statement, the state government said, out of 1,666 chemist shops in Srinagar, 1165 remained open yesterday. It said Kashmir Valley has 7,630 retail chemist shops and 4,331 wholesale shops and around 65 percent shops remained open there.
The governor said, in fact, authorities delivered meat, vegetables, and eggs to people’s doorsteps on Eid. Mr. Malik said curbs on communication helped save many lives in the state.
He said, no life has been lost in the state due to any violence in the last 10 days after the abrogation of the special status given to Jammu and Kashmir and its division into two Union Territories.
