Imphal : Speaker of the Manipur Legislative Assembly Th Satyabrata Singh adjourned the 4th session of the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly after it was held for only about 10 minutes. The one-day session of the 60-member Manipur Legislative Assembly was marked by a lack of any question-and-answer sessions, discussions, or the consideration of any of the agendas scheduled for the day.

The session quickly descended into chaos after the opposition Congress legislators started sloganeering and protests resulting in its adjournment without any substantial proceedings. Congress having 5 MLAs demanded the session to be extended for five days to discuss the prevailing situation in the state.

The one-day session was attended by 50 MLAs, including the 10 Naga legislators but the 10 Kuki MLAs who were demanding a separation administration were conspicuously absent and did not attend the session. Two main agendas for the day obituary references to six former members of the house and the presentation of the Business Advisory Committee 2023 fifth report by the House leader were passed amidst protests from the opposition.

The Speaker urged the Opposition members to maintain the decorum but they continued the ruckus, following which Singh adjourned the assembly sine die.
