Chief Minister Manik Saha on Thursday welcomed 70 lawyers into the ruling BJP, saying the people’s faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi was evident everywhere, adding that it only goes to show the groundswell of support that will take the party to a thumping win in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
An induction programme was organised by the legal cell of the BJP’s state unit at its office in Agartala on Thursday.
“I believe that their joining will strengthen our Legal Cell and organisation ahead of the elections. The people’s faith in PM Narendra Modi-ji is evident everywhere, indicating a thumping victory for the BJP in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls,” CM Saha said.
He added that the BJP is a party of dedicated ‘karyakartas’ (supporters).
“In our party, positions hold no special significance. Relationships are of utmost importance. Individuals may be engaged in various professions, but as human beings, we are all equal. Our collective goal is to contribute to the development of our country. It took us some time, but, eventually, we were fortunate to have Narendra Modi as the Prime Minister. He is like a guardian to us. Since PM Modi took office in 2014, our country has undergone a significant transformation,” he added.
The Tripura CM also highlighted the ‘contrast’ before and after 2014 while expressing concern about the ‘unstable government’ earlier and the scams it indulged in.
He also credited Prime Minister Modi for changing the dynamics of politics and implementing schemes for the benefit of the people.
“The trust and faith in our government have increased, especially, since the inauguration of the Ram Mandir. People now understand that only the present government can safeguard our country and ensure the overall progress of our state. Our government is committed to the state’s development,” he added.
BJP State president Rajib Bhattacharya and others were present at the event.
