Peren district administration constituted a task force to oversee and enforce the ban on the use of plastic in the district. Sarita Yadav, Deputy Commissioner Peren, constituted a Task Force for restricting the use of plastics in the District. 

This is done in compliance with the National Green Tribunal (NGT), Principle Bench, New Delhi, order dated 12th March 2019 regarding implementation of plastic Waste Management Rules, 2016 as amended in 2018. Subsequently a notification was issued by the Urban Development Department, Government of Nagaland on 29th November 2018. 

The task force consist of DC, SP, DFO, ADC Peren, Administrator Peren Town Council,  ADC Jalukie, Administrator Jalukie Town Council, ADC Tening, Administrator Tening Town Council, all outpost Administrative officers, Urban Development officer Peren,  representatives from Zeliang Mipui Organization, Zeliangrong Baudi, Progressive Peren, Peren/Jalukie/Tening Town Women Organization, Peren/Jalukie/Tening Town youth organisation representatives from Churches in Peren District.

This Task Force will function as squads for vigilance purpose and ensure ban on stocking, distribution, selling and use of any carry bags 50um thickness and plastic sachets/pouches usage of packaging, storing or selling of gutkha, tobacco and pan masala with immediate effect.
