Imphal : Prime Minister’s intervention has been sought by the Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) for early restoration of violence hit Manipur. A representative of the COCOMI, Athouba Khuraijam, in a memorandum submitted to the PM Office on Monday.
The memorandum states that the foreign elements including some of the leaders of the Kuki-Zomi who are of foreign origin must be identified and confined or deported to Myanmar. The memorandum also states that the territorial integrity and the system of administration in Manipur should not be altered as it has a glorious history.
It states, “Any change in the territorial integrity and administration may bring a death knell to many”. The COCOMI also urges the PM to identify illegal immigrants and to implement the National Register of Citizens in the state with 1951 as the base year. The memorandum includes resolutions adopted in the mammoth rally taken out on July 29 in Imphal.
