Kohima: Celebrating the launch of Pochury language news broadcasting at Meluri Village Council Hall on 1st June 2023, the Chief host, MLA & Advisor, N&RE and NSDMA, Government of Nagaland, Z. Nyusietho Nyuthe, expressed his sincere thanks and happiness for fulfilling the long-cherished dream and aspiration of the Pochury people.
He thanked the Government of Nagaland under the leadership of Neiphiu Rio for providing full support and applauded his praises to Dr. L. Murugan, Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, for timely intervention and fulfilling the wishes of the Pochury people.
He also expressed his special appreciation for the past and present leaders of Pochury, who have relentlessly strived to achieve this goal. He urged the gathering to spread brotherly love, aiming for peace and unity within the community.
A brief report on the journey of Pochury Hoho aspiring for news broadcasting was delivered by Sierhosie Kajiri, General Secretary of Pochury Hoho. The program’s highlights included a cultural showcase of folk dances and songs from different areas of Pochury, such as Meluri Area Public Organization, Phokhungri Area Public Organization Meluri Town, Phoyisha Public Organization, and Apoksha Range Public Organization.
Earlier, Khrutachu, a local artist, presented his original song dedicated to the auspicious day. Approximately six hundred people attended the program, including village leaders, GBs, and heads of offices under the Meluri Sub Division. Rev. Rümatho Nyusou, Executive of Pochury Baptist Church Council, and Rev. Tivisie Pojar, Pastor of BCMT, pronounced the invocation and benediction, respectively.
