Arindam is worried over his future because his parents cannot afford to bear the expenses of his studies at higher level
Agartala: Despite standing possible first in the HS (2) exam of Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) this year the future studies of Belonia’s Arindam Malla because of poverty and lack of means.
Arindam’s father is an agricultural labourer while his mother is a retrenched 10,323 teacher who coached her son who could not study science at the higher secondary level because of acute poverty.
Perhaps Arindam could have studied science , had his mother not been retrenched from service with effect from April 1, 2020 by the state government quite illegally.
Arindam was a student of Hrishyamukh higher secondary school this year and his parents Shipra Datta Malla and father Shankar Malla had a tough time taking care of his studies but now it seems almost impossible for him to continue higher studies.
Arindam’s elder sister had the same fate as she had also performed exceedingly well in the Madhyamik examination but could not study science in higher secondary level . Now she is a student of english honours in Belonia college.
Arindam is worried over his future because his parents cannot afford to bear the expenses of his studies at higher level. He said that if any institution or kind-hearted individual helps him he can continue his higher studies in the subject of his choice. So far however he has received no response except a glut of congratulations on his achievements.
