Haflong : A house packed premier show of ‘Waiphri’, the first ever full length commercial film was held at the Hamrangdi cinema, Haflong on Thursday. Waiphri is the first big screen Commercial feature film in the Dimasa language, to be screened at multiple locations simultaneously. Made over a period of more than 9 years, this film is now finally getting released on August 4, 2023 across the screens at Haflong, Diphu, Dimapur, Silchar and Dimapur.

Most of the cinema goers expressed their happiness after attending the premier show while appreciating all the aspects of the film. The film has got all the elements of a popular entertainment film and it is expected that this film will be a grand success, heralding in the genesis of the sub-regional language films and pave the way for development and promotion of this type of films.

Premier show of ‘Waiphri’ was attended by Chief Executive Member, DHAC, Debolal Gorlosa, Executive Member, DHAC Amendu Hojai, Retired Special Commissioner Rajesh Kemprai, Leaders and pioneers of social organization, Gaon Buras of Haflong area.

All the dignitaries were felicitated with token of love from the team Waiphri’. Swapna Daolagupu, Producer of the film while expressing her great satisfaction over the piopularity film said such over-whelmed support from audience definitely encourage the film makes and the artists in a great way.
