Government will whole heartedly solve any type of problems of auto drivers: Transport Minister
Agartala :The government enacts rules and policies to protect the interests of the people of the state. It is the duty of all to strictly follow these rules and principles. If there is any difficulty in this regard, the government and the department are sincerely trying to solve it.
Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury said this after restarting the prepaid auto service from Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport on Tuesday.
This prepaid auto service was closed for the last 6 months. This should give some relief to the passengers as many who come from outside the state generally depends on pre-paid services.
On the occasion, Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury said that a meeting was held on Tuesday with the representatives of airport area including security, transport, airport authority and auto drivers to re-launch prepaid auto service. It was decided in the meeting that this service will be launched again.
Appropriate steps will be taken to continue this service in the coming days. The government and the department will whole heartedly support the auto drivers in solving any kind of problems in keeping this service active.
The Transport Minister appealed auto drivers to ensure that this service is not stopped in any way. He also said that there are 280 auto drivers there. The state’s image at home and abroad depends on their services. The Transport Minister expressed hope that the auto drivers are satisfied with the decision taken on Tuesday’s meeting.
Secretary of the Department of Transport Uttam Kumar Chakma delivered the welcome address on the occasion. IGP (Law and Order) L Darlong, Transport Commissioner Subrata Chowdhury, Director of MBB Airport Authority KC Meena also spoke on the occasion. Later all the guests along with Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury opened the counter of prepaid auto service.
