Agartala : The private security Industry has come out to be a shining industry in India. Over the recent decades, as we liberalised almost each and every sector in our economy, security services have seen exponential growth in demand. Medium and long term forecast for growth of this sector remains bright and vibrant said Dr. R..K. Ranjan Singh, Union Minister of State for Education and External Affairs while speaking at Agartala on Monday in the North East Security Education & Global Employability Conclave.
Congratulating the organiser, ‘Central Association of Private Security Industry’ (CAPSI), Dr. Singh said that it is a great timely initiative as this conclave will not only shed light to the audience regarding the developments in the industry but also, in its own way, highlight opportunities in the sector to the local youth.
The Union Minister of State also thanked the ten million plus private security personnel who are extending security services to their clients.
Highlighting the way forward the Minister echoed that the industry should be shaped on a robust transparent platform, which should help facilitate the process of generating ‘trust and confidence’ of the clientele. He pointed out that CAPSI working with Quality Control of India for the ‘Star Rating Scheme’ and their ongoing work with the Bureau of Indian Standards for setting standards for the Industry and said that these are noteworthy initiatives.
Dr. Singh also appreciated CAPSI, the umbrella body representing over ten million private security personnel, working for the welfare and standard of the industry. He stated that for the industry to remain competitive, it is important to have high standards and certification.
Dr. R. K Ranjan also touched upon the various MoUs with international partners that CAPSI entering into as these is going to be the next big opportunity for the industry for exploring the international opportunity. He also said that the conclave being held in Northeast India will create awareness among the youth of the region.
He advised the private security industry to adopt technology to remain competitive internationally and to skill, reskill, and train with a quality adaptation of technology.
