CM makes special mention of Kumar’s work in handicrafts sector and contribution to trade promotion
Moradabad: Hon’ble Chief Minister of UP, Yogi Aditya Nath conferred the Honorary Doctorate to Rakesh Kumar, Director General-EPCH and Chairman-IEML during a convocation ceremony of Teerthanker Mahabeer University held at Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh.
In his address, during the convocation, Hon’ble Chief Minister specifically mentioned the work done by him in various districts of UP for promotion of exports of handicrafts as well as through the India Exposition Mart, Greater Noida. The Chief Minister has emphasized the importance of creating export hubs in every district of UP and has requested him to provide his services for the development of growth in other districts of UP, with the aim of achieving the kind of growth seen in Moradabad.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Rakesh Kumar said, “I am deeply humbled by this recognition from the academic world and it is a great honour for me to receive this prestigious doctorate degree from the hands of Hon’ble Chief Minister of UP, Yogi Aditya Nath Ji. This honour bestowed upon me would invigorate me further to keep working towards the promotion of handicrafts sector.
Raj Kumar Malhotra, Chairman EPCH said that, Dr. Kumar has been instrumental in advancing the cause of Indian handicrafts both within the country and overseas. Under his leadership, EPCH has played a crucial role in facilitating the growth of the handicraft sector in India, ensuring that the artisans and craftsmen receive the recognition and support they deserve. He has been actively working towards the development and promotion of the handicraft sector for more than three decades.
The world famous IHGF Delhi Fair is being currently held at Greater Noida till 19th March, 2023 at India Expo Centre & Mart and as the news was received by the exporters at the fair, they were thrilled and jubilant and send congratulatory messages across. Avdesh Agarwal, General Secretary, Moradabad Handicrafts Associations and its members pecially congratulated Dr. Rakesh Kumar. Neeraj Khanna, National Chairman, YES, Rohit Dhall, Chairman and Puneet Arya, General Secretary YES-Moradabad have also congratulated Dr. Kumar on the occasion.
