Provided to over 120 relief camps, sheltering more than 18,000 affected people, from 5700 families, in 5 districts
Imphal : The Ramakrishna Mission, Imphal, conducted the First Phase of its ongoing Manipur Refugee/Distress Relief Work, from 10 May to 20 July, 2023.
Relief items, worth more than 70 lakh rupees, consisting of dry ration, bedding & clothing, toiletries, utensils, food supplements for infants & mothers, etc. were provided to over 120 relief camps, sheltering more than 18,000 affected people, from 5700 families, in 5 districts, Bishnupur, Imphal East, Imphal West, Kakching and Thoubal.
For Phase-2, as per the resources at our disposal, we will try to continue our outreach and serve the afflicted, especially, the children and nursing/expectant mothers. Efforts are also being made to arrange for some educational support to the displaced students.
We also intend to procure warm clothing & thick blankets to distribute to as many affected families as possible, before the winter sets in.
