The Governor said that violence will not bring any solution and therefore all have to shun the violence
Imphal : Rashtra Sevika Samiti of Assam expressed anguish over the ethnic violence of two communities which claimed many lives and called for early restoration of peace in this strife-torn state. While expressing their anguish, the Rashtra Sevika Samiti team drew the attention of the Governor of Manipur Anusuiya Uikey to make all possible efforts to bring in a durable solution.
Sunita Didi of Rashtra Sevika Samiti of Assam along with three others called on the Governor of Manipur at Raj Bhavan on Friday (September 1). During the meeting, they stated that the trust deficit between the two communities has to be removed and therefore steps to bring them to a negotiating table should be taken up. They were also informed about their visits to different relief camps. The team wished the Governor for Raksha Bandhan and tied Rakhi to her.
Governor thanked them for their support in the efforts to restore peace in the State and said, the need of the hour is to bring the two communities at the negotiating table together to solve the issue amicably. Expressing her deepest concern over the fresh spate of violence in the last two or three days, the Governor said that violence will not bring any solution and therefore all have to shun the violence. She said, all have to live together in peace and should not resort to violence.
