Renowned Professor of Law based in Guwahati, Assam Dr. Sitangshu Kanunjna breathed his last on the night of September 12 at his own residence at Rehabari, Guwahati. He was 80+. He left for his heavenly abode peacefully. His wife was with him at the time of his last moments in this world.

Dr. Kanunjna was a popular faculty of law in Assam and he taught LLM students at Gauhati University. He was also teaching at Gauhati Law College.

A strict disciplinarian, and a devotee of the Ramakrishna Mission, he made immense impact of his work on his colleagues, students, and family member.

He retired as Jt. Commissioner of Sales Tax in the Government of Assam decades back and then practiced law as well as was a successful faculty member.

Dr. Kanunjna kept himself busy with his professional work all his life but was equally devoted to Ramakrishna Mission dedicatedly.

He left behind his loveable wife who had always been his strength, his two daughters and one son whom he loved unconditionally as a father; son-in laws, daughter-in-law, two grandsons and one grand- daughter.

His large extended family and friends are heartbroken at their loss.
