Retired college principal writes to Tripura Guv on civic woes

Agartala: The ex-principal of a college in Tripura, Sankar Bhattacharjee, has addressed a letter to governor Satyadeo Naryan Arya pointing out the serious civic problems being faced by people in his residential area. Sankar Bhattacharjee who is a resident of AD Nagar Road No-7 of the area said that there is no facility for drainage in his area.

Specifying the problems he said that due to lack of a proper drain the sewage gets blocked due to no passage exist route, during the rainy season there is always a problem of water-logging, due to lack of drainage system there is always a foul smell all over the area and in the absence of an easy passage of sewage a lot of unwanted insects float around at all times and because of this a lot of diseases easily spread in the entire area.

He said that this issue of lack of drain has been a long-pending issue which is not addressed by the civic authorities despite many appeals and the area has now become unsuitable for habitation for the reasons cited above. He has urged the Governor on behalf of the people of the locality to exercise his constitutional office and direct the AMC to take urgent steps to set up a proper drainage system in the entire area.
