Deputy Commissioner Nazreen Ahmed, ACS, & Chairman, District Road Safety Committee held meeting on Road Safety awareness in presence of Superintendent of Police, Dima Hasao Mayank kumar, IPS & other officials at DC office on Thursday. As per the direction of Ministry of Transport & Highway, New Delhi, the State is observing Road Week from 11th to 17th January 2023. The objective of the observance is to create awareness among the general public on road safety issues and to give opportunities and all the Stake holders to contribute to the cause of road safety through various activities.

 In this regards, on inauguration of the week long observance of Rally organized at Haflong with contribution of leaflets etc. was held yesterday followed by Auto Rally cum meeting on awareness held today at the DC office hall. A quiz competition was also held for the auto drivers to test their knowledge related to traffic rules.Other program lined up for the whole week includes eye camp or eye check up for drivers and conductors in cooperation with the health department, DTO, Police and Transport, various competitions, special joint enforcement drive against over speeding, drunken driving, awareness about first responder training.
