Diphu:  Moon Engtipi and Semion Terang were arrested by Diphu Police on charges of cash for job scam in Karbi Anglong District last Wednesday.

Allegedly the accused persons have swindled a hefty amount to the tune of one crore seventy nine Lakhs and Seventy thousand rupees from various government job seekers with various dream filled promises of lucrative government services against money. A case has been registered in Diphu police station (56/23 U/S 406/420/34 of IPC).

It is relevant to mention here that, Moon Engtipi until causing this alleged cash for job scam was holding the position of Secretary of Kishan Morcha BJP; East Karbi Anglong District, she was immediately banished from the party before placing her under suspension. Presently she is under judicial custody facing trial under various sections of IPC.

Moon Engtipi is a resident of Rongnihang area of Diphu town and Simeon Terang is a dweller of Mumding Terang village which comes within the jurisdiction of Angjokpani police station. Both were taken into custody by Diphu police on the basis of an FIR filed by Sadhin Killing of Howraghat one of the victims of the mega scam which was abiding from last one year.
