School burnt down by miscreants;two arrested.

The act of damaging school has been continuing since past some years and similar to such case is one sad that incident took place on Thursday at 9:50 pm where some parts of St.Joseph Higher Secondary school at Sugnu under Chandel district got burnt down

Education is one of the basic requirements for every child in this world but burning down school and its property over some demand only adds more pain to the students community.
During an investigation an involvement of KSO is suspected where two KSO volunteers  namely David Jamminlen Baite Secretary Education and Thangkhanlal Haokip,Information secretary were arrested from Gunpi block, Chandel District.
The act of damaging school has been continuing since past some years and similar to such case is one sad that incident took place on Thursday at  9:50 pm where some parts of St.Joseph Higher Secondary school at Sugnu under Chandel district got burnt down by unknown miscreants suspected to be volunteers of Kuki Students Organisation.
On receipt of the information,Kakching District Police with Fire Brigade of Sugnu and Kakching rushed to control the fire on the said night. The fire later damaged one class room block including office of the Principal, these were totally gutted. It could be mentioned that around about ₹35,29,000/ worth school property was lost.
During an  investigation it was revealed that KSO have demanded some huge amount which the school authority denied and later KSO  issued the dictate of closure of the school w.e.f. 25/04/2019.
The school authority did not pay any heed and continued their normal school which later  prompted  KSO to burn down  the school.
Many expressed grief over such incidents.Some private schools having exams have also called off as a mark of protest against such dirty actions.
Talking to media personnel Police has stated that the hunt is still going on and the involvement of the two student leaders is yet to be confirmed.
IGP Jayenta further revealed that the suspected has been remanded to police custody for five days.
Some stated that six students were misbehaving and  they were suspended, later KSO took the chance and planned accordingly.
The Catholic Educational Society Manipur (CESM) has strongly  condemned such acts calling it ” Against the cause of humanity”.Similar to these many student bodies and association has strongly condemned and urge the government to arrest the culprits and give exemplary punishment.
