Diphu : Holder of documentation in India Book of Records Shreya Bhattacharjee receives the prestigious Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar 2023 for her outstanding talent in the field of art and culture. She is a bubbly Tabla performer and the daughter of Rajib Bhattacharjee a humble music teacher from Assam’s Karbi Anglong district.
At a tender age of twelve years, she acknowledged a record of playing Tabla for the longest duration in India Book of Records. This little surprise is a recipient of various awards, champion in the All North-East Tabla Solo Competition, All India Pt. Rupak Kulkarni Music Competition and All India Tabla Solo Competition. She has won a gold medal at the 9th Cultural Olympiad of Performing Arts also.
Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar, officially recognized as ‘National Child Award’, is given by the Government of India, to children with exceptional abilities and outstanding accomplishments in six categories – Art and Culture, Bravery, Innovation, Scholastic, Social Service and Sports. It is India’s Highest Civilian Honour bestowed upon exceptional achievers in the age group 5 – 18 years and carries a cash reward of INR.1,00,000/-.
