The Silchar-Imphal air route which was terminated in the year 2014 will now again open up from 30th October this year.
It is almost seven years since this important route will be connected by air. Hundreds of students from Manipur are studying in Silchar in various institutions and looking into the deplorable road condition of the National Highway via Jiribam will be a relief to many. There are many passengers who travel to Agartala by flight from Imphal and then take the train route to reach Silchar and vice versa.
The much awaited #Silchar – #Imphal flight connectivity will be operated by Alliance Air in this route on daily basis with #ATR72 type aircraft, stated a social media post of Silchar Airport.
It echoed a general sentiment of people and posted ‘we are delighted to welcome #AllianceAir at IXS (Silchar) once again. The scheduled time of arrival of flt no. 9I 743 is 1305hrs & scheduled time of departure of flt no. 9I 742 is 1330 hrs.
