Singngat Battalion organised the seminar in support with Indian Council for Agricultural Research (ICAR) , Imphal and Lyzon Friendship School , a school supported by the Sunbird Foundation on 1 June .
SINGNGAT BATTALION under the aegis of CHURACHANDPUR SECTOR organised a one day Seminar cum Training session on Mushroom Cultivation for the people of Signgat and neighbouring villages.
Mushroom cultivation can directly improve livelihoods through economic , nutritional and medicinal contributions . It is not only a cash crop that provides yield within a span of less than a month but is also rich in various vitamins and minerals , a good source of carbohydrates with low to minimal amounts of fat and no starch .
Singngat Battalion organised the seminar in support with Indian Council for Agricultural Research (ICAR) , Imphal and Lyzon Friendship School , a school supported by the Sunbird Foundation on 1 June .
The main aim behind organising this camp was to motivate the people of Signgat and its neighbouring villages towards Sustainable Agriculture and imparting value training and knowledge . ICAR had sent team of two junior research fellows to impart the requisite training and answer various questions of the curious villagers .
The seminar cum training lasted for four hours and it was very useful to all the villagers. Over 100 villagers from all across the Sub Division attended this enlightening session.
The people of Signgat and neighbouring villages thanked Singngat Battalion for their unending support and continued endeavour for uplifting the standard of living of the community .
