The organic food and vegetables which are largely found in Nagaland will be an added advantage to grow hospitality Industry
The State Institute of Hotel Management & Catering Technology, Dimapur was inaugurated today by the Advisor, Tourism, Art & Culture, H. Khehovi Yepthomi who unveiled the inaugural plaque.
Khehovi was positive that the Institute will help the tourism and hospitality industry in Nagaland to grow. He said that the goal was not merely to build a big building or to fill it with people but also to make a strategic endearment and to produce employment and more job opportunities for the state.
Commissioner & Secretary, Tourism, T. Mhabemo Yanthan stated that Nagas having huge resources of local exotic cuisines coming from more than 16 different tribal communities is one of the extraordinary tradition in the culinary sector which can be exported to the outside world. The organic food and vegetables which are largely found here will be an added advantage, he said, as food with the right nutrients is what the world is looking forward to. Yanthan further said that with innovation and application of the right frame of mind will upscale our position in this fearlessly competitive professional sector.
Regional Director (NE) India Tourism Guwahati, S.S. Devbarman in his address said that Hotel management being a technical institution has an important role of developing tourism in the region and with the coming up of the Institute will boost the job opportunity and a big boost for employment generation and has tremendous future and prospect. He on behalf of the Ministry assured all assistance and cooperation.
