The government has already worked out a FIT INDIA calendar. Accordingly, the year 2019 will focus on ‘physical fitness and mental well being’., Year two of the mission will be dedicated towards ‘healthy food and eating habits’. The third year will emphasise on adoption of sustainable and environment-friendly lifestyle, while year four will look at healthy life style practices, health friendly goods and services, simple easy ways to keep diseases at bay.
After Swacch Bharat, the Modi Government is all set to launch its next campaign FIT INDIA. The center is gearing up to launch the FIT INDIA campaign on August 29 which is the National Sports Day. The aim of the campaign is to encourage sports in age groups and create awareness among them on the importance of sports in everybody’s life.
The campaign will be coordinated by. the sports ministry, and involve ministers of information and broadcasting, human resource development, Panchayati Raj and rural development, health, and youth affairs. The govt is working out a yearly and monthly schedule for the campaign. The govt has already worked out a FIT INDIA calendar.

The third-year will emphasise on the adoption of a sustainable and environment-friendly lifestyle, while year four will look at healthy lifestyle practices, health-friendly goods, and services, simple easy ways to keep diseases at bay.
Together with the yearly calendar, a tentative monthly calendar also has been prepared.
With the launch of the campaign in the first month, various activities will be organised in different educational institutes.
The various activities would include fitness runs, walkathons, cycle rallies and setting up of different health check-up camps.
The second month will witness organising of sports activities at all levels to encourage people from all walks of life to take up some sort of sports activities.
The third month has been marked to set up fitness groups and clubs and share the events through social media. Then follows the maintenance of safe playgrounds in the localities and educational institutions.
The fifth month and sixth month would be utilised for organising walking, walkathons, marathon, and cycling respectively. The next two months has been marked for organising competitive events of all kinds from traditional and local sports to culture, dance drama activities, volunteers sharing and demonstrating voluntary initiatives at block/district/state and national level. The last i.e. the ninth month would culminate with recognition and celebration of the national activities.
A separate office would also be set up for the FIT INDIA campaign. A mission office coordinate by a joint secretary and assisted by a team of around ten young professionals would be set up in the sports department.
The state headquarter would be set up with state mission leader and 1-2 young professionals assisting, while the Nehru Yuva Kendras will assist the district mission leader or district collector.
