According to police a case under section 342/506/323/386/34 has been registered against Rakesh on the basis of a FIR filed by the proprietor of trading firm Sri Mangal against Rakesh Terang and Paul Terang
Diphu : Diphu police have arrested Rakesh Terang member of Karbi Students Association today at 1.00 am from an unknown location; he has been charged with kidnapping, blackmailing, demand of ransom and releasing of malicious video in social media involving a Diphu based trader Nisant Jain.
According to police a case under section 342/506/323/386/34 has been registered against Rakesh on the basis of a FIR filed by the proprietor of trading firm Sri Mangal against Rakesh Terang and Paul Terang.
Following his arrest Rakesh was taken to Diphu Medical College and Hospital for routine check up where some supporters of Rakesh were present. The youths claiming innocence of Rakesh demanded his release and arrest of Nisant Jain.
It may be mentioned here that Nisant Jain son of Karnidan Jain proprietor of trading firm Sri Mangal filed a FIR last month with Diphu police against Rakesh Terang and Paul Terang and some others alleging kidnapping, blackmailing, and demand of ransom, releasing of malicious video in social media of his son.
The charges were refuted by various organizations including women and students body. They claimed that the student leaders were above suspicion rather the trader is involved in antisocial activity as visible in the video trending in social media, where Nisant Jain is noticeably naked with a young woman.
Meanwhile Karbi Anglong Women Justice Forum, Karbi Students’ Association and several other students and social organizations have started poster campaigning in Diphu town. These organizations have urged the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council authority to cancel the trading license of Shree Mangal
