If Pakistan has decided for a complete closure of airspace to India, Subramaniam Swamy feels India too should block ships going through the Arabian Sea to Karachi.
As soon as Narendra Modi Government curtailed the special status granted to Jammu and Kashmir under Article 370 , tension escalated between the two countries of India and Pakistan.
This has led the Imran Khan-led government in Pakistan to propose for a complete closure of airspace to India. They have decided to put a complete ban on the use of Pakistan Land routes for Indian trade to Afghanistan.
Subramaniam Swamy, Member of Parliament and senior Bharatiya Janta Party leader advised the Modi Government, that if Pakistan decides to close the airspace for Indian aircraft, then India should block ships routes going through the Arabian Sea to Karachi.
It has been claimed by Pakistan’s Civil Aviation authorities that the three aviation routes of Karachi airspace would remain closed from August 28 to August 31, 2019. All international flights taking this route would be severely affected.
Earlier the Indian High Commissioner to Islamabad was expelled, train and bus services were canceled and its trade with India was suspended by Pakistan Government.
