Mariani police from Titabar subdivision of Jorhat district arrested an ex-cadre of the All Adivasi National Liberation Army from Khatkhati of Bokajan in Karbi Anglong district.

The accused has been identified as Pradip Siddhu alias Nanu Paajji, a resident of Mariani by police. He has been arrested by police in connection with murder of one Shambhu Valmiki, a resident of Ambedkar Colony of Mariani by strangling. The body was recovered from the Kuccha at Hatigara Grant in Dhekiajuli Tea Estate in Mariani on May 3.
