Eight established state filmmakers, who have achieved awards and recognitions in various national and international festivals
Imphal : Television and Cine Foundation Manipur celebrates 18 years of cinematic journey at MSFDS Palace Compound on Sunday.
As part of the 18th Foundation Day programme, eight young emerging filmmakers were felicitated for setting a benchmark contributing to the cultural and artistic landscape of Manipur.
The young filmmakers included, Ashish Hamom, Manna Phanjoubam, Dingku Thingnam, Tushar Nongthombam, Rajiv Oinam, Khaba Maimom, Bishwajit Sharma and Ashok Veilou.
Moreover, eight established state filmmakers, who have achieved awards and recognitions in various national and international festivals, were also felicitated. The filmmakers are Haobam Pabankumar for ‘Pabung Syam’ and ‘Joseph’s Son’, Borun Thokchom for ‘I Rise’, Meena Longjam for ‘Andro Dreams’, Romi Meitei for ‘Eikhoigi Yum’, Saikhom Ratan for ‘Beyond Blast’, James Khagembam for ‘Meiram’, Khwairakpam Bishwamittra for ‘Eewai’ and Maibam Amarjit for ‘Highways of Life’.
It may be mentioned that the foundation has been involved in bringing about a good cinema culture in Manipur by organizing various film related workshop, seminars, and monthly film screening and discussion on every last Saturday in collaboration with Manipur State Film and Development Society.
Some of its members are acclaimed film makers who have brought laurels to the State while many potential film maker members are making their best efforts in making good film.
