The gathering at Imphal Peace Museum today afternoon was solemn and humble to participate in the last leg of the Book launch The Battle of Imphal and Kohima Japanese Operation in North-East India. The similar launch was held at Hotel Imperial in New Delhi on 15th December and Kolkata on 17th December.

The event was organised jointly by the publisher Knowledge World, Sasakawa Peace Foundation and Manipur Tourism Forum.The Manipur Tourism Forum is supporting the initiative in editing the final part of research and edit informed the Founding President Dr. Th. Dhabali Singh.

The book which will be made available in various academic libraries and in the web as part of the commitment by Government of Japan and shall not be sold informed Haobam Joyremba, Director Imphal Peace Museum as the research work is being considered National asset by Japanese Government. 

Yui Nakamura, Sasakwa Peace Foundation echoed that everytime she visits Imphal Peace Museum she becomes emotional.Prof. Tohmatsu Haruo, National Defence Academy, Japan who is doing the translation work said that he feels the book will showcase the Japanese narrative and also how blunders done by Japanese Army. 

P Kunjabihari, President Manipur Tourism Forum thanked everyone who could attend the program.This launch is part of various events that will take place across the world on this voluminous book being published echoed the Director of Imphal Peace Museum and said that we all are now part of a historic moment.

The Book was officially launched in Imphal  by Th. Basantakumar Singh, retd IPS and Education Minister along with Prof. N. Lokendra, Vice Chancellor of Manipur University who was part of the final proof reading, Pradip Phanjoubam, Prof. Hatashin Omi , Dr. Th Dhabali Singh, Lt Gen Retd.K Himalaya and Lt. Gen retd P. Nishikanta Singh, Yui Nakamura
