Think Tank Seminar on ‘Employment through Employability’ held at Imphal Hotel today had more than 100 distinguished attendees from the industry, academics, and policymakers from within the state as well from other places like Guwahati, Agartala, Delhi & Mumbai. 

Speaking in the inaugural session the Union Minister of State of Education and External Affairs echoed that ‘think tank seminar on ‘Employability is the need of the hour’. Complimenting the organisers Dr. Ranjan highlighted that such awareness campaigns will lead to a change in the perception of employability.

He further elaborated on National Education Policy 2020 and emphasised the importance it plays on skill development that would lead to ‘affordable, equitability & employability’.

Appealing to the youths and entrepreneurs of the state the External Affairs Minister of State announced that the Ministry of External Affairs is ready to offer all kinds of services to explore overseas markets if needed.

Govindas Konthoujam Minister of Sports & Youth Affairs; & PWD echoed that a Skill University is necessary for each state. He equally appreciated the efforts taken to get this seminar organised and more such initiatives should be taken. Few of the suggestions given by that the schools should have all teaching with modern teaching aids, all teachers should be IT trained, internship system should be introduced.

On this occasion, a souvenir was released titled ‘Employment through Employability’ by the dignitaries along with MD of Overseas Point Konjam Sanjeev Kumar and Managing Trustee of KRC foundation, Biswadeep Gupta.

The seminar had three technical sessions which were deliberated by resources who spoke on the employability issue.

A white paper will be developed now which will be circulated to the stakeholders and attendees with all the important inputs and recommendations of all the speakers informed Biswadeep.

Sanjeev said that Overseas Point is on a mission to train NE youths starting from Manipur and in order to expand its operations they have entered into a strategic partnership with KRC Foundation to train youths of other states and institutions across NE India and place students with this association.
