Diphu : Taxation department of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council through an extraordinary notification (no KAAC/Tax/ Cancellation of TL & Estmt/ 2022/23/2009(III)/663) issued on February 1 2023 have temporarily suspend Trade License
Held Nishan Jain son of Karni Dan Jain and Smt. Sakuntalla Jain wife of Karni Dan Jain from operating the business establishments Shree Mangal, dealing in readymade garments and Rajasthan Sweet House both located at MG Road, Diphu on the basis of enquiry report by Nickson Terang, Inspector, and Taxation Department.

The abrupt action of the council authority came following the demand of Karbi Anglong Women Justice Forum, Karbi Students’ Association and several other students and social organizations for cancellation of trading licenses of Shree Mangal. The organizations carried out a poster campaigning in Diphu town to assert their demand.
The issue of alleged kidnap of Nisant Jain and arrest of Rakesh Terang member of Karbi Students Association few days back has created quite a sensation in the whole district.
It may be mentioned here that Nisant Jain son of Karnidan Jain proprietor of trading firm Sri Mangal filed a FIR last month with Diphu police against Rakesh Terang and Paul Terang and some others alleging kidnapping, blackmailing, and demand of ransom, releasing of malicious video in social media of his son.
The charges were refuted by various organizations including women and the student body. They claimed that the student leaders were above suspicion rather the trader is involved in antisocial activity as noticeable in the video trending in social media, where Nisant Jain is noticeably naked with a young woman.
The residence and business establishments of Karbi Dan Jain and his family members are under police protection since the incident of alleged kidnap took place.
