“This kind of violence is unacceptable, and we are calling for immediate and decisive action,” Saha asserted
Agartala: Tripura Congress president, Asish Kumar Saha, accused BJP Councillor Alak Roy of orchestrating an attack and vandalizing the residence of a Congress leader after the leader refused to withdraw a case against Roy.
Saha, accompanied by other Congress leaders, visited the home of Kuldeep Bahadur and his brother, Gobinda Bahadur, to assess the damage and express solidarity.
Speaking to the press afterward, Saha revealed that the incident took place late Thursday night in Baganbari, AD Nagar, Agartala.
“Kuldeep Bahadur is a dedicated party worker, and his brother Gobinda Bahadur is a prominent leader within our party. On Monday, Kuldeep’s son was assaulted on the street, prompting him to file a case at AD Nagar Police Station.
Subsequently, under the leadership of Councillor Alak Roy, individuals linked to the BJP exerted pressure on him to withdraw the case. When the Bahadur family refused, BJP-affiliated goons retaliated by attacking them and damaging their property,” Saha alleged.
The Congress leader also mentioned that he and the victims met with West District Superintendent of Police, Kiran Kumar, to seek protection and demand strong action against those responsible for the attack. “This kind of violence is unacceptable, and we are calling for immediate and decisive action,” Saha asserted.
