Jayanta Das has made Tripura proud at the national level. Recently the 48 year old person from Agartala has got the  ‘Best General Manager of the Year 2018-19’ in the Indian Hotel and hospitality Industries award. But this is not the first time Jayanta has received a special award. In 2018 he received  ‘Pune Best Brand Leadership Award 2018’ and  ‘Taj Kumarakom Resort and Spa   award’ by the   National Tourism award for the year  2012- 13 , 2013- 14 & 2015 – 16   by the President of India when he was the General Manager of a Resort in Kerala.

A boy from very ordinary family background  and from far-flung NE states like Tripura can also make state  proud in national arena by his honesty, sincerity and dedication in his professional work and Das has proved it again. Das has yet again proved that success is not necessarily the legacy of only people or professionals of big cities like Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore or Chennai. Das’s father Late Pulin Das, was a resident of Indranagar, ITI road, Agartala and a TCS officer and worked for the development of the state in various capacity. 

After, Graduating in English  from Tripura University and completed three years Diploma in Hotel Management, Catering and Applied Nutrition (1990-1993) and then he began his career with the Taj group in 1993 at Taj Bengal, Kolkata. He studied Hotel Management from the Indian Institute of Business Management, Patna.

Since   23 February, 2018 he has been appointed as the General Manager of the Gateway Hotel Hinjawadi Pune. He moved to Pune from his role as the general manager at the Taj Kumarakom Resort and Spa, Kerala where the hotel under his leadership won two National Tourism Awards. For the last three  consecutive  years  since 2012  he was  awarded with the three prestigious National tourism award and this year he bagged the General Manager of the year in Indian tourism industries. He  received award from the two former Presidents of India for his  distinguished services and contributions  in the Indian tourism and hospitality industries.

Presently, the pride of   Tripura Jayanta Das is the General Manager at the Gateway Hotel Hinjawadi in Pune.
