New Delhi: Chief Minister of Tripura Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha laid emphasis on building an international standard Ayurveda and Yoga school in the state to tap the trade potential with South East Asia. The Chief Minister said that Tripura will become the gateway to South East Asia once the connectivity through Sabroom Maitri-Setu becomes operational.

This will create commercial opportunities in the state. The hills & valleys of Tripura are full of medicinal plants. The Chief Minister also emphasized on setting up an Ayurvedic medicine manufacturing unit in Tripura by utilizing this resource.

Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha expressed this opinion while participating in a seminar titled ‘One Earth-One Health: Advantage Healthcare India 2023’ at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi on Wednesday.

Chief Minister said, following the philosophy of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’, we are always working for the welfare of the whole world. Our Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also presented to the world the principle of ‘One Earth-One Health’ i.e. working for the good health of all life including the animal. This policy will help prevent disease, reduce costs, improve food security and save lives.

The two-day programme was inaugurated on Wednesday by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and addressed virtually. Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, Chief Minister of Sikkim Prem Singh Tamang, Member of NITI Aayog VK Pal, Joint Managing Director of Apollo Hospital Group Sangeetha Reddy and General Secretary of FICCI Shailesh Pathak were present among others at the programme.
