Agartala: A upa-pradhan belonging to BJP and his younger brother sustained serious injuries when the members of a rival faction of the party attacked them in front of the party office at Mailak village of Amarpur in Gomati District of Tripura on Wednesday evening. Both the injured were taken to Amarpur hospital from where they were referred to the district hospital as the injuries were found serious.

It is learned that the Upa-pradhan Sudip Debnath and his brother Pradip were holding a meeting with some party workers to finalize a plan about how to celebrate the party’s possible victory in the by-elections. Suddenly another group appeared on the scene and attacked them. All others managed to escape but the Upa-Pradhan and his brother sustained injuries.
