Kurukshetra – “Union Budget 2023-24 conceals more than reveals the intentions in terms of seven priorities as the ‘Saptarishi’ guiding us through the Amrit Kaal including inclusive development for careless and useless”, believes Prof. Madan Mohan Goel, Former Vice-Chancellor known as founder Needonomics School of Thought superannuated from Kurukshetra University.

He was addressing the students of the Institute of Management Studies at Faculty Lounge Kurukshetra University on the topic “Union Budget 2023-24: Perceptions of Needonomist”. Prof. Anil Mittal, Director of IMS delivered the welcome address. Dr Rajan Sharma organiser of the event presented a citation on the achievements of Prof. M.M. Goel.

Prof Goel said that the task of pleasing all the stakeholders including consumers, producers, distributors and traders is difficult if not impossible in a democratic nation who have to confine itself to needo-consumption, needo-production, needo-distribution and needo-trade.

The budget proposals 2023-24 reveal that the measures taken in the budget proposals were necessary but not sufficient for the economy of Sawrnim Bharat towards 2047 called Amrit Kaal, told needonomist Goel.
To make the provisions sufficient, We have to understand and adopt the principle of needonomics as a Swadeshi idea of Bharat in totality which includes needo-consumption, needo-saving, need-production, needo-investment, need-distribution, altruism, needo-trade for glocalization ( think globally and act locally), need-environment and above all needo-insurance for needo-happiness, explained Prof. Goel.

For becoming a $5 trillion economy, it is believed that a sustained increase in private consumption is needed in India but the risk of high inflation based on the wrong methodology of monthly measurement may not be in good taste, told Prof. Goel

For ensuring Swarnim Bharat towards 2047, we have to adopt street SMART and SIMPLE models with spiritual input flowing from Gita and Anu-Gita told Prof. Goel.

FM must explain the use of education cess collected from the income taxpayers for effective implementation of NEP with many challenges including financing the States, said Prof. Goel.
