“The Union Home Minister’s Medal for Excellence in Investigation” award intends to promote high professional standards of investigation of crime

The “Union Home Minister’s Medal for Excellence in Investigation” for the year 2019 has been awarded to 96 Police personnel on 13th August.
This medal was constituted in 2018 with the objective to promote high professional standards of investigation of crime and to recognise such excellence in an investigation by investigating officers.
Among the personnel receiving these awards,15 are from CBI, 11 are from Maharashtra Police.
Uttar Pradesh Police got 10 personnel, nine from Kerala Police, Madhya Pradesh Police got eight personnel and six are from Delhi Police.
Karnataka Police and other States and Union Territories and Central Investigating Agencies, however, scored the remaining. These included thirteen women police officers.
