Union minister asks govt officials to complete all projects in time

Agartala: Pratima Bhoumik, union minister of state for social justice and empowerment, interacted with the officials of various departments at the conference hall of Sipahijala deputy commissioner on Tuesday and asked them to ensure the timely completion of all the centrally sponsored schemes in their respective blocks.

“You will have to ensure that all the people oriented schemes of the Central government reach the doorsteps of people living in the last row of the society. This is our commitment to the people and government will accept any sort of laxity on this front,” Bhoumik said at the meeting.

However, the minister concerned also reviewed the ongoing schemes of various departments like fisheries, PWD, health, water resources, power supply and education.

The deputy commissioner of Sipahijala Dr Vishal Kumar made a power-point presentation at the meeting. An official from the water resources department informed Bhoumik that so far under Jal Jeevan mission 59 thousand households arre now fetching clean water and the official said that the project is still going on.

Regarding Pradhan Mantri Grameen Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) the officials said that so far 167 roads and 4 bridges have been constructed. On Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme an official from the department of agriculture said that till now 29 thousand farmers of Tripura have been brought under the ambit of this scheme.

The president of Sepahijala zila parishad Supriya Das Dutta, vice president Pintu Aich, MLAs Sushanta Deb, Antara Sarkar Deb and a host of panchayat officials also attended that meeting.
