US CDC Confirms Six More Coronavirus Symptoms

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the leading national public health institute of the United States has added six symptoms of the novel coronavirus to its list.

These lists though not all-inclusive, but health experts are learning more about the symptoms doctors around the world see the virus affecting patients.

The symptoms could appear between two to 14 days after exposure to the virus. As par CDC reports these symptoms are:

  • Chills
  • Repeated shaking with chills
  • Muscle pain
  • Headache
  • Sore throat
  • New loss of taste or smell

Recently, scientists of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Jodhpur has highlighted that loss of smell and taste of infected patients makes their entire Central Nervous System (CNS) and the underlying structures in the brain more prone to viral infection with devastating effects.

Early reports of the virus suggested that it caused standard respiratory symptoms, and it is extremely contagious and deadly. During the past few weeks of the spread across the world, health experts have studied how covid-19 attacks many organs in the body.

It is believed that these additional symptoms confirmed by CDC will make it easier for people to know when to go for a test as well this can help doctors decide when patients need to be tested.  

CDC has forewarned that these lists may not be all-inclusive list and there could be other symptoms too.
