Guwahati: The anti-corrupting wing of Assam government arrested the assistant commissioner of state tax department for allegedly demanding for bribe from a businessman who approached her for goods and services tax (GST) related work.

The official has been identified as Minakshi Kakoti Kalita. The sleuths recovered Rs 65 lakh from Kalita’s disposal, sources said. Vigilance sources said that their investigation is still going on.
