Diphu : Vishwakarma Puja, the propitious day devoted to Lord Vishwakarma on his birth day according to Hindu belief. Lord Vishwakarma is the divine engineer. The day was observed in Diphu with religious dedication on Sunday and Monday as well.
The day for Puja has been marked in Hindu almanac on the calendar day of Kanya Sankranti or Kanya Sankramanam which is observed on September 17, but this year, the last day of Bhadra month has fallen on Monday which is September 18.
Generally followers of Hinduism pray to Lord Vishwakarma for a better prospect, protected working conditions and accomplishment in work. The day is also observed as Vishwakarma Jayanti ,the celebration is observed primarily in industrial units and by any person related to technological jobs.
