Dima Hasao – In order to give emphasis on valuing of girl child, the unit of Women and Child Development under the department of Social Welfare, Dima Hasao is all set to observe a week long programme for national girl child day in the district. As a part of the programme, the day one kick started with pledge taking by all the officials followed by a signature campaign held yesterday at the office of the Dy. Director of Social Wefare.

As per the programme schedule various activities are to be carried throughout the week such as organising awareness campaigns at the gram levels, various interactive programmes with the high school and junior colleges involving students etc along with the other stake holder departments such as Education, Medical departments.The officials further informed that final day of the programme will be concluded with a rally at the district headquarters. Public gathering as well as participation from other departments is also expected on the final day of the programme at the District Library Auditorium, Haflong.
