West Bengal government has called a high level meeting today to discuss the water scarcity in the State.

West Bengal government has called a high-level meeting today to discuss the water scarcity in the State.

Chief Secretary Maloy Dey will preside over the meeting at the State Secretariate where secretaries of Irrigation,  municipal affairs, Panchayats, Public Health Engineering will be present. 

Bankura, Purulia, parts of Burdwan districts are facing severe water crisis.

The situation deteriorated due to the late arrival of monsoon in the State. The meeting aimed at effective uses of water resources in the changed scenario.
